13 years ago I woke up very sick in China. The pollution was really taking a toll on me. I knew I didn't feel good when this was the day I would meet my daughter and I couldn't imagine getting out of bed. We were to meet in the morning around 9am. My head hurt so bad and my congestion was causing so much pain on my face. Then the phone rings. They needed to move us to the afternoon to meet her. I was able to get some more rest and try and figure out how to feel better. I knew it was from the pollution because I would blow my nose and it would be black on the tissue. When I would shower the water would turn black as the water hit my body. Around 4pm in China we met a very scared little girl who was 2 years old. She was confused of course. The evening was short because she feel asleep laying on me after an emotional afternoon/evening. We call this day "Gotcha Day!" The day I birthed her from my heart. This day is so special to me and is like a birthday in many ways. We became a family of 3 and the adventure began. Happy 13th Adoption! You are one of my greatest teachers and I am happy to walk this path of life with you!
